APLs container terminal in Seattle, Global Gateway North, features advanced on-dock intermodal rail
facilities and latest generation computerized terminal operations system. Dedicated in 1998, this
state-of-the-art terminal is the result of a $270-million modernization and expansion program
undertaken by the Port of Seattle.

Container Terminal 18
Terminal 18 completed a major expansion in the spring of 2002. T-18 is the Port's largest container terminal
and one of the largest in North America. Redevelopment of adjacent property doubled the size of the terminal.
Financing of the $300-million expansion was provided by the sale of special facility bonds backed solely by
lease payments. This saved the Port $60 million in capital capacity that can be used to help finance other
important projects.

Container Terminal 46
Terminal 46 is located on the southeast side of Elliot Bay, just south of downtown Seattle and
just north of the the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railways Seattle Intermodal Gateway rail yard.
The Post recently completed a $72 million upgrade and expansion of the terminal and a new lease was
signed with Total Terminals International (TTI) and Hanjin. The lease agreement ensures that TTI and
Hanjin will remain there until 2015 and perhaps as long as 2025.
Other improvements include a new 16-lane truck gate with state-of-the-art optical character
recognition technology, new terminal buildings, additional container yard acreage, a stronger
pier apron and a new fender system.

Additional Information
With its array of sophisticated electronic controls and mechanical devices, the terminal
is a completely automated grain facility. This assures you efficient movement of grain
from trucks and rail cars to silos and then to ship's hold. The two northern-tier railroads
- Burlington Northern Santa Fe and Union PPPaacific - have access to the terminal on a common-user basis.
The current 4.2-million-bushel capacity is expandable to meet future requirements.
The storage specifications are: 68 silos - 130 feet (40 meters) high and 28 feet (9 meters)
in diameter hold 54,000 bushels each 39 interstices hold 13,500 bushels each
8 shipping bins in the headhouse hold 40,000 bushels each
